Thyroid disease research programme

The thyroid gland regulates hormones, metabolism, heart function, the nervous system and other important processes. Symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, cold, anxiety, hair loss or disturbances in menstrual cycles may indicate thyroid dysfunction. The thyroid gland is sensitive to a variety of factors, including stress and infections.

The Thyroid Disease Screening Programme assesses hormone levels and antibodies, helping to diagnose thyroid disease early and treat it appropriately, especially in women and individuals at higher risk.
